China Uses Latest Weapons in China-Thailand Joint Military Training
China has pitched in some of its latest weapons in the month-long joint military training with Thailand, codenamed Blue Commando-2016, which started on Sunday.

The weapons included “Changbaishan” warship, two helicopters and Type 05 amphibious armored vehicles.

Designed and made by China on its own, the amphibious dock landing ship, “Changbaishan”, is 210 meters long and 28 meters wide, with a displacement of nearly 20,000 tons and a maximum range of up to 10,000 nautical miles. It is able to sail in any waters other than the polar regions.

The ship has accomplished a number of major missions, including “Komodo-2014” multilateral humanitarian rescue operation, the escort mission in the Gulf of Aden and the China-Russia 2015 joint drill.

Type 05 amphibious armored vehicles, also designed and built by China on its own, are the world’s fastest amphibious combat vehicles, capable of adjusting the level of inclination according to the waves and speed.

The vehicles demonstrated good results in the International Army Games in Russia in August 2015 and participated in the China-Russia joint drill in September 2015.

The China-Thailand joint training will focus on humanitarian aid delivery and joint training offshore and onshore.

It is the third joint military training by the navies of the two countries since 2010.
